Our church, Community Church Of the Nazarene at Hickory (also known as CCN Hickory) was founded one late evening back in October of 2013, under the direction of Pastor Raymond P. Groves Sr. This church was founded on the principle of serving others, as we continuously minister under our growing Prison Ministries, through which we send the inmates care packages of essentials, as well as other foods they don't have access to normally. We also fund phone calls for the inmates, and our Pastor visits the prisons and jails almost every day of the week, ministering to the incarcerated, bringing them comfort, as well as the Word of God wherever he goes.
In addition to our thriving Prison ministries, we also host a food ministry in which we reach out to the community in a variety of ways. Our church's desire is to reach out to those in the midst of brokenness to assist them in building a "Rock Solid" Foundation with the living word of God, by following Christ's ultimate example, which he set for us.
Lastly, our Children's Ministry is very strong and growing, and the children meet every Sunday during the Worship Service, which lays a foundation for a Christian life. We also host a youth group that looks to bring God back into the lives of America's youth through the power of prayer, which enables them to set positive, Christ-like examples, which they carry with them to school, impacting their everyday lives, so that other youth may see the light of Christ.
